Can someone post the article and pic rather than the link.

no telling what happened behind closed doors ....during that 3 month span when he was reported until he was fired he was probably instructed to lose weight and retry...never know.

In the military if you fail a PRT they put you in fat boy camp sort of to get you back in shape before they clip you out. You can actually be "out of standard" in some cases yet still be able to pass your PRT. I would say they would have let him comtinue to be a fat body if he'd passed their version of the PRT they had to do....instead he failed obviously so he's a liability (like in the service) therefore he must go.

I know you can get kicked out now (admin discharged) for falling out of regs and failing prt's now in the service pretty quickly these days. Maybe 2-3 times and it's a wrap. I'm sure he was given a shot to redeem after putting in 25

I have a buddy in now that I served with and he let himself get admin discharged and now he finally got his a$$ in gear and is trying to get back in. may be too late for him though. Basically he got lazy like this guy obviously and got comfortable

Lost in this translation is the fact that he has become a liability in the field, as he cant get out of his own way...

Quite right.

I can maybe understand getting a little out of shape, but that's ridiculous!

There was a similar thing over here in the UK not too long ago with an obese firefighter. I think they gave him 3 months to shift some weight from his fatass but he didn't do it so they gave him the elbow.

I mean, that guy could have been called upon to strap on breathing apparatus and try and rescue someone from a burning house! They'd both end up being carried out in bodybags from the charred structure.

Police officer, firefighter, soldier etc, should be in some sort of good shape and definitely physically fit and able.
