Seems to have a couple-like roofline in that first pic.

Perhaps it will be similar in style to the BMW X6.....?
No doubt about it...

I wish Acura/Honda hadn't scrapped the NSX replacement.

All the car forums are saying it is supposed to compete with the X6 but have you been in an X6?  It is a huge vehicle with a surprisingly small interior and virtually no back seat; a Sport Utility Vehicle--without the utility.  And very expensive!  I did not like it.  I love my 3 series, but I don't know who they are targeting with the X6.  Presumably I am in their target audience (DINKs) but I wouldn't touch the X6 with a ten foot pole.

The new Acura looks cool but without interior room, it will suffer the same fate as the X6.  I haven't seen one on the road anywhere around here. ::)

The X6 is a very odd car.

My uncle has an X5, and when it went in for a service, they gave him an X6 for a few days. Styling is weird. This one was white with black wheels. Interesting, but weird.

Like you said, back seat accomodation was woeful. I stand 6ft and my head was pretty much touching the roof, and it only seats 2 people in the back.

I'd take an X5 anyday over the X6.....but i have no doubt they will sell enough X6 just on the "stand out looks"...... ::)

Did you notice the sticker price on the X6?  I can't see who would buy that vehicle?  The X5 is a much better choice: more room, more utility, less expensive to buy and probably to insure.

The X6 only makes sense as a second/toy car; that is to say, a vanity purchase for someone who already has a more practical and useful vehicle.

Ridiculous.

Speaking in Aussie $ here, you can get a top of the range X5 for around $120k, maybe a bit less. Top of the line X6 is closer to $150k.

Although i must admit that the new V8 in the X6 is pretty sweet. Sounds great.

My dad has a 335i coupe, which has the 3-litre twin turbo six in it. You can get that engine in the X6, although the X6 is like a tonne heavier...... :-\
No doubt about it...

I have always liked Honda/Acura products but I think Acura has lost its way in recent years.  I find their entire line up unattractive.

• The design (exterior and interior) is not what it used to be and that is not a good thing.  They seem to be going for an edgy, angular, futuristic look across their product line.  I find it ugly.

• The words "Acura" and "fuel efficient" do not belong in the same sentence.

• While "nice" I no longer associate the Acura brand with the word "luxury."  In my mind, Acura has fallen into the realm of Volvo.  For years people have debated whether Volvo is a luxury brand or not.  If you have to question if something is a luxury then it is not a luxury.  By the way, price alone does not define luxury when it comes to automobiles.

It will be interesting to see what Acura will put in the MSX. Will it be a the V8 that they said was in development, will it be a Twin Turbo V6?

Honda ostensibly does not do V8 engines.  They love to brag about their average fuel efficiency and a V8 would bring that down.  In any event, lately Acura engines have not exactly been a leader in high gas milage. It's just one more reason they have lost their edge.  Remember, Acura was the first of the 3 luxury brands from Japan.

Acura does have a V8 in their ALMS LMP2 (soon to LMP1) racer. This is seen as a testbed for a V8 in their mass produced vehicles. Acura needs a V8 in order to compete against the Tier 1 Luxury marques (Mercedes, BMW, Lexus) and they need to go RWD. It has been said that Acura will have a V8 vehicle come out. And they are testing the new NSX with a high revving V10, so they could actually take that V10 and chop off two cyl. and have a V8, just like BMW did with their M V10 to create the M V8.

Depends, Acura's new NSX will either come out in 2010 or 2011. After the NSx debut's with it's 500 plus hp V10, they might debut a RWD V8 engined RL  sedan as a flagship.

As I said Acura has had a V8 LMP (LeMans Prototype) race car in the ALMS series, it competed in the LMP2 class, and they have been racing for 2-3 yrs. Honda/Acura is trying to get their reliability for engine. And lets not forget that they have had V8 and V10 engines for Formula 1 for yrs.
