Co-op is kind of fun.

I don't like that you can't move and shoot like other games.

I give a 7/10

My wife is a die hard RE fan. She went through it in 2 days. She said it's good but the controls are way different. She also didn't like that there aren't many puzzles as previous titles.
She did say that after RE4 they really can't go any higher, that game was awesome.

This will be the last RE with this type of gameplay.

The next generation will move to more of a GoW type format.

RE4 no doubt is better, its like god of war I for ps2, or prince of persia for ps2, sometimes the game developers shouldnt continue, especially when they do a great job with the first version

God of War was the one series that I somehow missed.  I'm thinking of going back and playing 1 and 2.

Do you think it will hold up today after playing next generation games?

On another note, I recently convinced a gamer to play the MGS series, since he never had.  He said the original PS1 version, while graphically inferior, has stood the test of time, and was still excellent and enjoyable.

yeah no doubt GOW 1&2 were great, if you ask me, many of the "next generation" games aint any better yet than gow, thats my oppinion.

As for old games, i still play PONG in my very very old and about to die PONG console, its not all about gfx :)

on a side note: Legacy of Kain. That game was fucking awesome. I wish they'd make that for the current generation.

I agree with you about the next gen games.   People tend to forget that even though games look really pretty, it's really all about the gameplay.

Most of the successes on the "new" consoles are just sequels from prior hardware, except rarities like Gears of War.

In fact, the last "new" game I purchased and beat was The Orange Box, which as I'm sure you know is a PC port.

Due to time constraints, I mostly just play Halo3 MP.

I'm going to get God of War 1 and 2.   I have a PS2 as well as a 360.  If I run into a game that's PS3 exclusive (rare!)  that I want to play, I just borrow a PS3 and crank through it.  The last one I did was MGS4.  The next one will probably be God of War 3.

I saw some screenshots of the 2 games, and looking at the other gods' size in relation to Kratos was just epic looking.  Should be great.
