WASHINGTON – This may come as bad news for Al Gore.

The modest global warming trend has stopped – maybe even reversed itself.

And it's not just the record low temperatures experienced in much of the world this winter.

For at least the last five years, global temperatures have been falling, according to tracking performed by Roy Spencer, the climatologist formerly of NASA.

"Global warming" was going to bring more and more horrific hurricanes, climate change scientists and the politicians who subscribed to their theories said. But since 2005, only one major hurricane has struck North America.

Of course it's highly unscientific to draw any conclusions from just a few months or just one location, but over here the average temp has been way warmer this winter as well.

well that's an outright lie.  Nasa has a good site on it.  seach "global tempurature average nasa"  you'll clearly see whoever said that on the Discovery is full of shit.  You'll also see a steady progression upwards in the average over time and you'll see that it goes up and down along the way.  The fact that it is down now doesn't mean that it's not going up over time.  They have a lot of collected data in charts over there, go check it out.

I think the global warming nonsense ignores so many other contributing factors that have nothing to do with humans driving their cars.

Solar issues, climate issues, and may other natural occurences we have no control over.

Hansen who leads the NASA research has been caught fixing data twice last year and was proven wrong about the warmest years on record.

Also he mixes modern methods for collecting weather data wit historical methods. Which does not tend to mix well.

The earth is nearly 4 billion years old and in that time has undergone vast degrees of temperature change. This only seems significant because the human ape (which has been around for roughly 100,000 years, meaning no time) is a bit overstretched on the planet but in geological terms it's not a big deal.

Canada has only recorded data since about 1948.

So many historic warm periods can't even compared.
In Canada many of the northern stations are gone as are the ones in Northern Siberia.

This has impacted the data to a large degree.

It is also is not right for Hansen to say that 1934 wasn't the warmest year worldwide in the latest 100 years since many places weren't recording temperatures.

I think there are good scientists on both sides of the argument but it has become politically correct to promote the man made global warming crowd.  I have seen compelling arguments that the cyclical temperature changes have much more to do with the waxing and waining of the sun's energy rather than CO2.
