I just saw a story on the news about a black woman who's going to attempt to "Shop Black" for a year.

Only making purchases from "Black owned business", and banking at a "Black owned bank".

Is it just me or is this racist as hell?

Why is it OK for Black people to practice Racism?

What would people think if I came out saying I was going to exclusively support my "white brothers" and only shop at white establishments.

Especially when some of the so called "black businesses" are fronts for Korean stores.

YES you would, because whites do that all the time... When was the last time you went to a Black, Hispanic, Asian etc community to shop???

I went to a Mexican store to get Ancho Chiles about two days ago.

I dont go anywhere to shop with race in mind, only what is convenient.

This is all within literally 500 feet of my office:

I get my coffee in the morning at DD and there are all Indians working there.

I get pizza across the street from my office and the place is owned by an Albanian guy.

The beverage place is owned by an Irish guy off the boat.

The food store and the cleaners are both owned by Koreans.

The Chinese food place is owned by Chinese people.

I shop at all of these places because they are near where I live and work, not because they are of a particular race.

I use to go eat at this New Orleans lunch place run by some black people that moved here after Katrina.

It went out of Business though.

Oh yeah, forgot. "My" Chinese restaurant is owned/operated by a great Chinese family.

My cousin lives in Atlanta GA. He runs some kind of Custom car place.

Forgot about the Mexican place... This nice Mexican family has a chain of Mexican restaurants in my area that are soooo good, and at a great price.

I would miss out on all of this if I spent my money based on race.

I've never ever met an Asian I didn't like (except for one guy who is half white, I can't stand him

Same with Jews, I haven't met many Jews but they all seem like really nice/caring people.

True, but I believe the stats are that black people spend more money on material items than anybody else. Basically it's a self esteem thing, or lack there of. that is why you see rap videos with dudes flashing cars, watches, etc. And why we spend soo much. Kanye had a song on it.

So when there was a certain high price alcholic beverage that was always being popped in videos and in many songs, they said they didn't want to be associated with Hip-Hop. Jay-z, said then don't buy it....well, the company revenue went down...You don't see Rolls Royce saying the same thing. In fact google, Rolls Royce and the myriad of fugly colors you can get them in.

Black folk have often said that black owned business either are too expensive or don't have what they want. Too expensive, yet you'll buy a watch costing 10 grand from Jacob the Jeweler and the shit is made with Conflict diamonds

Something I admire about Black Guys...

You see all these white teenagers in rice burners and other junk Asian cars.

Black guys can appreciate real cars like Impalas and Regals.

Plus, speaking out or going agains The Black Church as a black man is taboo. Like you're go to hell in a handbasket for doing that. Reason being, is that the Church was at the forefront of the Civil Rights era.

I really dint like revrend jackson or sharpton. I wrote them both...but i got no response.

I asked them why they bring attention like Imus and Michaels (yeah it was a while ago) which aren't problems and are protected under the 1st amendment, but they dont say anything about public school funding dispairties amongst schools within the same district. In La i went to school at 2 Jr high schools. One black and one white. The black school had 1 book for every 2 students...basically was way under funded and didn't have any resources. the white middle school had 2 books per student, one for school and one for home...and a whole lot more.

Any i wrote them and gave them stats and budget copies etc...i got no response, i guess the story wasn't sexy enough...

Spent 3 weeks in Korea, spent money...eat chinese food...eat mexican food all from Hispanic or asian businesses...ur an idiot.

We've got one like that. fast service...massive 3 dollar beers with frozen mugs...plenty of chips and salsa.
