I will heading down to the evening part of the 2009 NPC Max Muscle Natural competition this weekend, on Saturday, March 28th. While last weeks NPC San Diego had over 130 competitors, this contest already has 100 competitors, which is a new record for this competition. It is in Los Angeles, aka Culver City, at the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium.
As for the emcee in the evening, it is none other than the best one in the business, Lonnie Teper himself, on of the 'Experts' at the mike!
See you there...

Polygraph doesn't hold up in a court of law, they should post their pictures here and we can weed out the juicers.

Ron...I have gone to a couple of the NPC's 'natural' shows....and let me just say that I was surprised to see the people who entered. I am not one to point fingers, but it was laughable at best. I know there are people who could be suspect in the WNBF.....but this was ridiculous.

MAXX, great comment. Not sure, but I think some of the natural promoters do just that.
I once promoted a natural event, tested the overall winner only, and had to appear at his front door to ask for the trophy back and then make arrangements to test the second place contender.
If I recall correctly it only cost us about $160 before the right person got the trophy.

I don't know what the rules are today but when I was promoting NPC natural shows back in the 90's it was entirely up to the promoter what kind of testing to do, how extensive the test should be and how many athletes to test. The cost for a urine test ranged from $50 to over $1000 per test depending on how extensive you wanted to test. A steroid screen cost $50 and a full IOC test was over a thousand. The urine screens were pretty useless and the better urine tests were too cost prohibitive so polygraphing was usually a better choice. To test my drug tester I would send in people I knew who were non competitors who were currently taking drugs, had taken them long ago and who had taken them recently but weren't on any at the time of testing. I tried every scenario I could think of and my tester got it right every single time.
