Worth a try, need to use it for a few months to see any benefit. Try fish oil as well, will help reduce inflammation in the joints.

I started taking Natrol's Glucosamine/Omega 3 for my left knee last week, and it's already feeling better.

definitely worth taking, takes a while for the effects to show, but worth it.  I started taking it after my elbows started hurting from jiu jiutsu training and it's worked miracles.
It hasn't helped...

Good stuff.

I take a glucosamine chondroitin mix along with fish oil and it seems to be good for my knee and elbow. You can do a 2 or 3 week loading phase with Glucosamine, just take 2 tabs per day. I haven't done this though.....
No doubt about it...

Fixed my elbow, along with time and smarter training.  I take 2000mg a day.

It works great! Give it time to 'kick in'. Took almost 2 weeks before I could really feel the effect.

Supposed to be, but everyone's different I guess.  I can get away with alternating 1500 with 750.  Saves a little cash.

For some people it can take even longer (30-45 days), so if you're a first timer, don't get discouraged.

You might be able to reduce that dosage to 1500 and still reap the benefits.

I've bought it and used it more as a precaution than anything else. I have spoken to a few rheumatologists about it and none of them seem convinced. Apparently the studies that support supplementation by glucosamine are funded by companies that manufacture glucosamine. There are also fears about diabetogenesis related to glucosamine usage. One thing that is recommended though is cod liver oil

Could be, but there's certainly a lot of evidence based support.  I know when I run out and stop taking it for a couple of weeks, my joints start to "ache".

Can you elaborate on the cod liver oil statement.

re cod liver oil. I think there are health benefits such as improved lipid profile, good source of vitamin D for prevention of osteomalacia and a lot of research now pointing towards the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids in the prevention of dementia.

You guys all say that this stuff works as long as you take it for a long period of time, but, why is it not possible that it's just the body doing the healing without any influence of this supplement?

I NOTICED IMMEDIATE RESULTS....don't get me wrong, i'm not doing 200lb db shoulder presses either, i still go easy on my shoulder and do a pretty good warmup before starting my workout. Before i started taking the glucosomine i was having a hard time sleeping on my shoulder, it was pretty bad.

Glucosamine for connectve tissue enhancement = pseudo-science.

There is no evidence whatsoever that taking more of the raw material for connective tissue formation will result in thicker cartilage and thus stronger joints.
