You do realize that the Taliban was outted from power years ago?...so how can there can be a "new Taliban law"  ???  FFS, the title of the article itself is "worse than the Taliban" - i.e. the new proposed law is worse than the law the Taliban would enforce years ago.  Probably the worst case of reading comprehension I've seen on getbig  :-\

The stupidity at getbig is always reaching new lows.

Typical dumb eurotrash.  ;D

I only read a few lines of the article and gathered that the current (US-backed) government that overthrew the Taliban is to enforce a law that is worse than what the Taliban enforced when they were in power.  That's what the article is about.

Here's the link, bobs. Karzai is looking for political concessions, but still, it would be a huge step backward. Even with your formidable spin power, you'd be hard-pressed to make this palatable.   :-\

I agree, it would be a huge step backwards.  What would make you believe I would think otherwise?

My reply did not support the proposed law in any way, I just commented on Swede's misunderstanding of the article to believe it's a "new taliban law" when in fact it's the opposite - a law proposed by the gov't that opposes the Taliban.

I'd be pissed off as well if I lived in a country the world forgot, is completely landlocked, held in a iron grip by tribes and has absolutely no value to anybody except heroin addicts.

So why have outsiders fought for 000's of years to control it?  ;)

one could point to trade routes in ancient times. I'm not sure why the soviets did and in our case they harbor terrorists although I think Pakistan is the real problem.

The Soviets fought for it because of 1) Territorial expansion  2) Oil supplies

I wish a country would just step up to the plate and Nuke the entire middle east.  Then send robots in for the oil.  Sure their would be a few pissed off people,  but that would pass and then we wouldn't have to deal with these assholes anymore
