Women in the UFC
« on: April 01, 2009, 11:52:50 PM »
Why doesn't the UFC let women in??? We are just as competitive and hard hitting as the men! I myself have a record of 6-0 in boxing and am ready to try my hand at pro MMA... When you have someone of my caliber, why not let us in?? I will even go as far to say that I would battle a man to get my place. I have gone toe to toe with my ex boyfriend who weighed 100lbs more than me  and  my ex-husband who outweighed me by 75lbs, several times, and kicked their asses. My ex husband is Conner Black...Ask him if I'm a bad-ass... Google him, I'd be interested if he's still in prison for various violent crimes... My ex-boyfriend is Robert Lyle Edwards Jr, Both of these men can say I'm fully able to fight out of my weight class and win...Turn me loose in the UFC!!!! Do I care if they're pissed?  I'm now 175 and 15% bodyfat...and I'm still only 5'5"....I was 125lbs when I kicked their asses...

Dana White has said he would not rule out a superfight here and there, but would not go as far as to add a womens division in the UFC, there's a better chance of that happening in the WEC.

When I was young I used to love that late night show GLOW (gorgeous ladies of wrestling).  I'm not sure how I feel about women's fighting.  I know they can do everything men can do but some sports just seem like they aren't for girls.  I do love women's tennis though and Serena could probably body slam me through a glass coffee table.   :)

No offence, but how are you gonna compete in an organisation like UFC that don't allow steroid use?

Just asking.

i train with the one of the most accomplished women jiu-jitsu players in the world and who is undefeated in pro mma thus far.  she can kick alot of brown and black belt guys asses while rolling. but even she says that she doesn't stand a chance in mma against a ufc level man in her weight class. just to let you know.

i second that. ive said before  non-knock out power is dangerous to the brain and women dont have it and yeah yeah im sure you could knock out men or women in general but the sub 700ib per square inch power displayed by most top level women fighters is just gonna turn your brain into mush. punch drunk syndrome.

i do not wish to watch women getting hurt and the female fighters ive seen at top level do not have the skill to justify watching over men competing.

Now go cook me some fucking dinner lol

Dana feels the same way I do.  I'm only interested in watching naked women compete in ky jelly wrestling matches.  Seriously, only a small percentage of people want to see a women bleeding or leaving the ring with black eyes.

I think a Women's division is just a matter of time.

If UFC refuses to explore it - it will something that a competing fed can use to win over interest with.

But they would have to look at how female tennis and my favorite example - volleyball - are  successful versus other female sports who are not very successful.

Eg hockey, soccer, et al.

Sports that don't understand that they need to cater to sexual tension.

Women may have to fight in a slightly smaller cage, and with slightly THINNER gloves, not thicker, in order to be able to do proper damage.

The smaller cage of course in order to keep a similar pace to the men.

Easy there Tyson... if a real tough guy hit you, well let's just say you'd be in that coma for a few weeks..

besides, you can't fight, it'll be 2 years before all the juice clears your system and that's if you stop now.

LOL, no shit

there's a vid out there somewhere  (youtube?) of an average untrained Joe fighting a professional woman fighter, 3 rounds and the match is pretty even, she's a highly trained fighter and she can't really do anything to him in 3 rounds.
