YONKERS - A 20-year-old Yonkers woman became enraged because a mailman would not open another person's mailbox to see if a check she was expecting was there. So, she punched and scratched him and stole his Bluetooth headset, police said.
Police later arrested Rosemarie Santos of 75 Bruce Ave.
Police said the 50-year-old mailman arrived at 75 Bruce Ave. at 11:40 a.m. yesterday.
Santos told him her benefit check was in another person's mailbox and asked him to open the box. He refused. That's when the trouble started, police said. The mailman was treated at a local hospital for cuts to the left hand. Federal police also investigated the incident.
Santos is charged with second-degree robbery, a felony.
