3 hours seems way too much specially if you go from medium to high intensity. Also, if you're a natural, eating tons of protein won't do shit as protien synthesis is limited. It's your carb intake which will determine if you lose muscle or not. If you run out of glycogen, you'll lose muscle. As simple as that.

Eat better/cleaner.........no need to do so much cardio.

I am training for an amateur boxing match and I need my fitness levels to be at their very peak....I realize 3 hours is excessive and thats why i ask muscle loss can be prevented.

why do you give a fuck about the size of your muscle ?
if you are boxing, you should do the best you can to be a good boxer.

don't know shit about that tho, maybe Coach can give you some tips

Yep, you will lose muscle.

Even if you keep the protein high. And if you are training for a boxing match, hopefully you are still eating plently of carbs.
