Sure , every single time a white bodybuilder wins he claims it was politics , from Arnold and Sergio , to Zane and Robbby to Yates and Ray/Levrone , to Jay and Ronnie without FAIL anytime a white guy wins he claims they weren't worthy and were hand picked by the Weiders specifically because of color , he's biased plain & simple
I believe it’s not a “colored politics” but it has been always politics to favor the most popular choice to be mr. Olympia (marketing).. it’s not necessary to market the sport with a white guy but it must be an extraordinary bb with great “big” body and enough charisma to attract more fans and convince them he is the best even if he is not the best every year.. they always prefer the likes of arnold, haney, ronnie &, Yates than the likes of franco or deckerson..
after dorian they chose Ronnie to be the next extraordinary multi Olympia winner so when he came off in 2000 and 2001 they still gave it to him to make him another legend like haney and Yates and to be always the “man to beat”.. if he was not mr. Olympia before he wouldn’t win in 2000 and 2001.. this is always good to market the sport.. if they give the deserved winner the title every year the olympia will be like the AC and will lose its most important attracting factor which is to see “the man to beat” competing with the others!!.. of course this is a shitty politics but it’s true..
now and after ronnie there is no “outstanding” bb left so the Olympia may go to the deserved winner for a while till they create another legend!!..
n.p.: they tried to make jay a legend and gave him a chance in 2007 (when he didn’t deserve to win) but he disappointed them and failed when coming clearly off again!!.. it would be bad marketing if they gave it again to jay in 2008 because it was going to be against the favorite choice.. Ronnie didn’t disappoint,.. when the fans started to get bored and wanted another guy to hold the title he presented an extraordinary big version of himself in 2003 to secure some more years after it..
