How does a know-nothing punk with no real-world experience and his head in the clouds get to be freakin President of the US? I mean with all the best and the brightest this country has to offer... how does this happen, not once but repeatedly??? How did we end up with this guy?? And for that matter how did we end up with the bozo before him? I will never understand how that happens. Surely we can do better, but we don't.
Several reasons:
- He gives a great speech and winning political office is as much about giving a great speech as anything else.
- He looks good and winning political office is partly a beauty contest.
- He's smart.
- He ran an outstanding campaign.
- He raised and spent an obscene amount of money.
- The war was mismanaged.
- The economy fell apart at just the right time.
- McCain was a weak candidate.
That said, I don't think he was qualified to be president. As Biden said, it's not the kind of job where a person should get a lot of on-the-job training.
