Gary Strydom will be here shortly in South Africa (18 April) will be in my stomping ground (Durban) - on the east coast of SA)

He was born and grew up here before moving to the States..went to my best mates high school (was just an ankle biter then)

From what I know he presently lives in Thailand , currently at 140kg’s (310lb’s)

Will put some pics up of his visit soon!...

looks great for his age, 310lbs at over 40 bit like Nasser though if you know you arent going to be competitive why the need to be that size anymore and gas that hard, each to their own i guess, but cant help thinking these guys must be pretty insecure about losing their identity or something,to be still going that hard after retirement, not hating just an observation.

Yeah I know. I mean think about all the 40 year olds you know or your own dad at 40. LMAO! What a loser. I don't think he's retired yet....says he aims to be around 330 pounds by July, so he's not playing around.
Maybe he moved to Thailand because of the way things are in the US and the spot light on steroids and the risk and stress of being a pro in the states. He has lots of business interests besides Crazy wear, probably made his cash already... To me it makes a lot of sense he moved Thailand I'm sure he gets treated like a king there, great change rate, probably cheap rent, food, drugs, women, awesome weather, I'm sure free gym etc.

Wasn't Dennis James also in Thailand at one point before he moved to Europe?

Regarding Strydom
Living cost is cheap in thailand but I doubt he owns property there because the thai law bans land/property sales to foreigners. Nevertheless I'm sure he has a good lifef there if he has enough cash to throw around.
What were his other business interests apart from his clothing line?

The last time he came out here we got to spend quite a bit of time with him (My sponsor bought him out here for guest posing for our Nationals) He came across as a very sharp business man, very professional, kind of like Jay in his approach to the sport.

Gary is a cool dude.Met him when he came down to Malaysia.Very humble and down to earth.He would be 51 this year as i met him late last year at the Hard Rock Kuala Lumpur where he said he was 50 then.He has a real estate business going on too. Also he works with youths on team building and so on.
