Customer service = the quickest, most effective way to learn about and develop an incredible contempt for the stupidity that people are capable of
Here's an example of that stupidity:
A long time ago I bartended at a restaurant. We used to keep small candles in a glass on the tables. Some idiot woman had her pocketbook burned because she placed next to a candle. Unable to accept responsibility for her stupidity, she tried to get the restaurant to pay for the pocketbook. The manager told her, "It's not the restaurant's obligation to tell you that a lit candle is hot."
The customer is NOT always right.
