Poor Terry Taylor.  He had a decent career going in the mid-atlantic and Florida before making the mistake of joining the cartoonish WWF.... excellent worker, but stunk on the stick.

I'd say trusting your career to Vince during that time would be labeled a mistake....he made everybody into cartoonish clowns.

Dynamite Kid admitted to quite often seeing Vince backstage laughing and sniggering at some of the stupid shit he had guys doing in the ring - seemingly for his own amusement at times.

The ULTIMATE insult would be if Vince one day inducts the Red Rooster – not Terry Taylor – into the HOF; or at least induct him as “The Red Rooster” Terry Taylor. He'll never shake that atrocity.
They could do it the same year they put in The Brooklyn Brawler.

Terry was good in the ring.
It’s a shame his gimmick was that of a giant cock.

The guy really could wrestle.
In the WWF he never really had a chance to show it.
I don’t know why Vince gave him such a stupid gimmick. 

Usually, the old man reserved those kinds of stunts for revenge tactics against former troublemakers – like when he made Harley Race (one of NWA’s greatest champs) the “King” with that cheesy ceremony and stuck him in the horrible program with JYD at WM III.
Well, when Harley was a promoter down in Missouri he caused quite a few problems for Vince when WWF tried to run shows in his neck of the woods.

Luke & Butch were wrestling as the “Sheepherders” and already acting stupid before Vince got them.
But the fans like them.
