i am 230 and 6 feet tall. i know i will lose muscle too, i figure i would be at about 200 by the end of diet,no i have no definition i am smooth as a baby.

if you're 230  you'll start looking good at 210 and you''l be what can be considered "ripped" to normal people at 200.

Bad idea, you are in danger of falling into the permabulker category.  Section 8, paragraph 4 of the getbig handbook states that one characteristic of a permabulker is that they are already planning their next "bulk" when they still have a long long way to go on their cut. 

Honestly bro if you have been lifting for a while you should already have some muscle under the flub.  Just work on cutting and what muscle you do have will look ten times better.  You do not have time to fully cut, then bulk, and then diet for your July event.  Even if you were on a lot of steroids that would be very difficult.  So my advices to you would be to just focus on your cutting thru July, and after you hit your ideal point of leaness then do a bulk if you want but don't go overboard.  Set a limit like you won't put on more than 15lbs, and if you exceed that you will immediately start dieting.  You don't have to put on 30-40 lbs of fat to gain muscle, the pros do because they are on lots of gear and are lazy.

thanks dude....i actually have always kept fairly lean and always eat clean, but this winter i ate all kinds of shit, anything I wanted and got fat. I am not going to let myself get so out of shape again.
probably only lose 1lbs of fat a week, 2 at the very most (note: 1lb of fat, not 1lb of weight) and will take longer than 15 weeks. yip yip
i think i can do 2lbs fat a week on my diet and cardio program easy, with about 1500 calorie deficit per day, i do not really care about losing muscle i just want to cut the fat quic as possible so i can start with clean slate

1) marshalls ;D they have cheap as shit there, cause its all the last years stuff.  sometimes i will shop on ebay too
2)live in a shitty old apartment that used to be a boarding house, that pipe comes off the heater
3)to dry stuff over the heater

yes, marshalls indeed.  my wife always wants me to buy clothes there cuz according to her "you ruin every shirt after wearing it once".  it's not my fault that on the day i buy a new shirt, it's mcdonalds day (every day) and i get ketchup and grease stains over it.

they have all name brands at mashalls,its not shitty clothes like they have at walmart(i heard they get some defect clothes though also). sometimes all the best stuff is already taken though,depends on the day, tj max is also another good store.  i went to macy's the other day and polo shirts cost like 75 or 85 bucks,i just left, screw that. they are like 20 bucks at marshalls,i don't care whether its this years or last years line they look the same.

You were given plenty of REALISTIC advice here, however, you CHOSE the answer that least bruised your ego, which I'd say means your not very serious.

Seriously delusional perhaps, but not serious. The majority here is right, IF you're 230 (from the looks of those pics) you're between 22 and 30 percent bodyfat at least. I don't think you know how lean 10 percent looks.

Just to keep it realistic, in those pics you look like an untrained, sedentary and overweight male, I think you have this idea that you're just a couple weeks from looking like Arnold (who was only 235 lbs).

You need to be MUCH more realistic with yourself.

i have muscle dude, my physique looks nothing like a fat sedentary overweight male, maybe in those pics in a black shirt hunched over my laptop. i look like a bodybuilder in an out of my shirt. i am not delusional about this, and im not delusional about how im going to look either, i just know i dont need to lose 70lbs and i am defenitly not 30% bodyfat, no way in hell.  im just going to diet and see where that takes me. thanks for the advice though, i am going to get some better pics soon

You have a long way ahead of you when it comes to dieting. Starting out losing 2 - 3 pounds per week = stupid when considering how long you need to diet.

70 lb is just ridiculous. Even if you are going to compete, you could do it weighing around 175 - 180, so I'd say what you need to lose is closer to 45 lb. And another thing - don't make the mistake of getting fixated on achieving a number. A number doesn't mean anything - one person at 10% won't look exactly as lean as another at the same level of bodyfat. So go by the mirror. Unless you are competing, there is no point in getting super lean, especially if you have the kind of body that isn't naturally that way.

thanks dude, no i wont be going by the scale..i do think i am probably dieting incorrectly, i started at 240lbs and looked noticeably bigger muscle wise, now i am 10lbs lighter but stomach the same and smaller muscle..started some var and going to just do the same diet from here, 1600-1800 cals a day+cardio, don't really care about losing muscle, ill gain it back....
will update my progress one i get some noticeable results

If you keep hitting the weights hard, clean up the diet real good, and do your cardio religiously... drop the alcohol, and add some juicy juice....



I'd say 25lbs. will get you to a place you might wanna hang for a while (10-12%) while you put on some SOLID gains.



After you hold on for a while, make some more gains and drop the bf another couple, two, three percent.



Keep a daily record of what you eat, what you do in your workout, and try to estimate your caloric intake along with exercise/activity output.


Get a bodyfat scale that shows progress. It may not test you at your exact levels, but it will show if you are gaining muscle, losing fat, gaining fat, gaining muscle, or worse case scenario: Gaining fat and losing muscle.

Your stomach doesn't look all that fat, probably due to the combo of having a small bellybutton and pants pulled up high.

Throw out your scale.

Cardio upon waking
Cardio after training
Train legs 3 times per week.

In 3-4 months you will look much better.
