I don't care if you're a competitor or not. In my opinion you're only natural if you workout and eat regular wholesome food. Supplements that don't affect the human body physiologically i.e. above what macronutrients, minerals do are ok. Creatine does not effect the sympathetic nervous system nor does protein powder. But ephedrine sure as hell isn't natural. Neither is caffeine or aspirin to affect the fat burning capability of the body. If you take ephedrine one time and that's it yes you could still be considered natural. It all depends on how it affects your physique. Anything that affects your physique more than dieting with food and exercise in my opinion is not natural. It's funny to see all these natural idiots try to justify this simple concept. but but but I only used 30K mg of caffeine and caffeine is found in coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why, to some degree, it's almost pointless to argue about who's natural and who's not. I've told this story before, but in college, one freshman football player saw his teammate, consuming weight gainer. He dismissively told him, "I don't take that *@&#; that *&@@ make your nuts shrink!".
This fellow equated Joe Weider's Sugar-Free Big to some form of anabolic drug. And, there are plenty of people like that. People might consider YOU not to be natural, simply because you use creatine, protein powder, or weight gainer.
Few have the time or the capacity to build a signficantly-muscled physique, exclusively on regular food.
As for ephedra (via ma huang), the last time I used was 2003. And I only got it because it was part of a now-discontinued RTD, marked down to just $0.50 at GNC (Nitro-Glycerol). It quickly reminded me why I stopped using Ultimate Orange and the original Hydroxycut. I can do without the heart-jumping-out-of-chest and arm-shaking-by-itself routine.
