pretty good characteristics.  I'm glad they don't suffer too many skin issues with all the wrinkle.s  the only thing is they don't tolerate heat well.  Not sure how good they would be in atlanta summers.  High heat and muggy.

hmmm... I've always heard they were prone to skin problems because of the wrinkles  :-\
anyway, their hair/coat is really bristlely. It would be like kissing someone with a scruffy beard  :P

You said a medium size

Collie
Chesapeake bay retriever

finnish spits
shiba inu (yeah)
akita

samoyed
aussie shepard
German short haired pointer
retriever
norweigan elk hound
Doberman
german shepard
Lab

husky
malamute

shar pei (stella)
rottie

Most of these would not fit that category.

I have a friend who's had several Akitas.  They are enormous and don't have long life expectancies.

They catagorized them by weight classes i think.  I was surprised when i saw some of them on the list, myself.  Didn't know shar peis are like kissing a guy.  The are out! lol.  Looks like the shiba inu is the front runner.  I guess i need to head out to a shelter or rescue place and take a look around, see if anything changes.  The thing is, I want them young, like puppy young.  Then i can help develop it's personality some.  on't want a doggie that's been to traumatized...
