Flex Mag, Musclemag, Ironman, M&F.. a adult magazine?
« on: April 23, 2009, 12:41:17 PM »
Okay with all the burgening bodybuilding magazines, there is a one rock they have not turned over.  A men's adult magazine featuring Fitness/Figure/Bikini chicks. I'm  talking about the American Curves type of magazine...without the clothing. Classy, like Playboy and Playboy's Newstand specials. As a matter of fact back in the late 90's Playboy did feature blond bombshell Amy Fahdli (sp) and there were people who apprecaited her and the other girls as well.

Many people bought MD when they had those scantely clad women in it, and still some people write in asking for them. I firmly believe that there is a market, and hey, if their is a market for the Muscle Elegance type, then there is a BIGGER market for the women with less muscle and more curves.

And muscle Elegance has shown that it doesn't hurt their placings, because Denise Masino and Dayana have done the nude thing and have placed well at shows, so that shouldn't affect the Fitness/figure/Bikini girls one bit.

If one company can do it, chances are it would be Musclemag, they already have the American Curves deal, but I think the AMI/Weider group could pull it off as well.

Plus it would be more girls for Ron to tak pics of...

or maybe Big Ron should look into this venue.

I'd say its an adult mag in some ways. I had to remove a Gina Aliotti spread from one of my issues for sanitary reasons.  :-X ;D

Yeah, but i think AMI sould get on this money making cashcow. Being that the ecomony is what it is, and many women can get extra cash to get their "prep" for shows. and there was an article that stated that due to the economy more women are taking it off...

Everybody is a winner. Plus it it helps defeat the gay Schmoe label is within the bodybuilding industry

Figure, fitness competitors should be sexy, and have great pictures, but when you start taking topless or nude pictures, that is another venue, and you should think about it if that is what you want to do.  I prefer the more sexy pics, that lets you imagine, but are creative and artistic.  Those are sometimes the best shots.  Hot, sexy, and creative.  Like Flex's newest issue with 8 figure and fitness competitors up in the snow and in the hot tub. Excellent pictures, and smoking.

There are many models here in Southern California that pose nude, hell, the porn captital of the world is only 10 minutes away from me, and I have been on a number of those shoots in the past, plus more.

Now, that doesnt mean a girl cant be topless or nude, and you take a great picture, just not it being x-rated.

Jasmine St.Claire is a great friend of mine, great athlete and good for the sport. I have a lot of respect for her.
My other friend, Houston 500 once did 500 men in one setting. She's another great rep for the sport. I'd love it if Muscletech or some other reputable and solid company would sponsor her, she deserve it. Great hard working athlete!

and many of the long time readers of MD were appalled by what was happening to Grimek's magazine.  they left and never came back

Hmmm, MD used to be about All Natty, back in the mid 90's, yet did a feature on Ernie Taylor's "legit" 22's. Yet, they are gonna be mad abut T and A, some serious questions need to be raised, or were other things being raised with man skin between the covers?

I agree, but disagree. The Pics can still be sexy. As I said, if there is a market for Muscle and Fitness, then there is a market for the more Mainstream girls. And they are still showcaing the fitness industry. Ironman had a series of videos in the late 90's with featuring fitness women, it didn't hurt them.

And let's face it, the money is not all that great for the placings, and the Money from posing might help in coving the cost for prepping for contests.

Also, young men who are into working would either buy the mags, get online memberships, or get memberships to the owmen's websites, thereby creating more money for the mags and the women. Ca-ching for both all the way to the bank.

MD used the name All Natural Muscular Development from Feb 1997 thru Dec 1998.  They were ridiculed for it from the beginning.

btw, Grimek was the editor from its beginning in 1964 through 1986

Good, it was them that gave Ernie his launching board, and the whole Synthol took off. Because Md had Ernie, Flex then did jumped on board and did a pictorial featuring Ernie's Tris.

People will always lament if some part of a recipe is changed...
