Despite parts in minor films such as The Voice of the Turtle and That Hagen Girl, he became increasingly preoccupied with his more important role during Hollywood's "Red Scare" as head of the Screen Actors Guild. According to an article published in the San Jose Mercury News, documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act indicate that Reagan and his first wife, Actress Jane Wyman, provided federal agents with the names of actors they believed were Communist sympathizers.

How do you think he met Nancy? She was anonymously accused of being a pinko, but Ronnie took a liking to her, so she came under his protection. He did a lot of shitty underhanded things as head of SAG, including turning a blind eye to the complete conflict of interest with MCA Universal. The laundry list of Reagan's underhanded misdeeds at the helm of SAG is legendary in film industry circles.
