Good for Jay nowadays but back in 1999-2003 he would never have let himself get that fat offseason,why is he trying to play the size game

I first read *Orange Roughy*.

Jay hasn't started his prep yet; another moth or so of just cruising. He obviously look ready to go full throttle but looks fuller than the years before. He probably is heavier too but doesn't look bloated.

Perhaps it is just off-season, but doesn't his rear lat spread look to be getting worse and worse?  It just doesn't look as wide as it one was.  He's got his work cut out for him for sure with this year's lineup.

I'd have to say I thought the very same thing. This is the very first time I've noticed the loss in tightness in his ab area. Something he's usually known for in the off-season. I guess only time will tell, gotta give him serious credit though, he's a smart man and I'm sure he knows what's good for him and what's not.

He was NEVER amazing. He had NO competition other than Ronnie... If he would have competed from 1993-1999 he would have placed 15th....

Actually, YES.

As for Jay, regardless of his shape, he still has the size advantage to win, but the others are catching up for sure.

He is looking pretty good but he has a structural problem, which is his waist. He does great in posing at angles that hide and disguise it, but it is a real problem, which apart from surgery, I am not sure can be resolved.

I would love to see him come in shredded in 09. If he comes in more ripped and as tight as he was at his best, and really nails his conditioning he can still do it.
