In a video of last yr's FIBO Phil and Mel Anthony are trying out a lat machine with a similar butterfly hinged movement. I wonder if it is by the same company. And if there is any diff. in feel

Sometimes simplicity rules out over gimmickry. This machine is like wrapping your arm around your neck to scratch your nose when you can simply move your it to the front of your face to accomplish the same task. It's basic physics and kinesiology. He does seem to be struggling a bit with what is relatively light weight for someone who seems to be a bb. Of course he could be at the end of his routine.......but then he would be sweating like a Sri Lankan rebel

Yup. I think that's a Hammer machine. There's a white one (no racist) at the Toronto gym I hit when in town. I've found it doesn't feel as cool/smooth as it looks. Definitely not a machine you can pile the weight up on.

Looks like it would be hell on the joints because of the rotation.

Best chest press machines are Flex Leverage, as good as or better than weights. Martinez had em in his gym.

Strive also has some nice stuff, with variable resistance curves.

the powerhouse gym on the campus of Michigan State has one. Pretty interesting, it felt different than the standard bench machine, it did hit my chest at a different angles, felt like heavy flies. LOL, it is bad for the ego, you really can't load up on it. As a change of pace from your your usual chest work out it is great.

fyi, that powerhouse gym has moved even further off campus
