Watch James Stewart, a true athlete, and the worlds fastest motocrosser on the same show.
Gregg V. aka "the Ramblin' freak" is a friendly, funny guy, that caught a cult following and gained some media attention. Had he remained a serious BB, he would have remained rather obscure, like most of us.
He had a decent natural/low dose physique when he started. He might have won a few state level shows as a middlewt and that would have been it. He blew out his arms to absurd proportions with some crazy, extreme methods ( GOD only knows what different substances were in his arms).
I have met GV in person, I like him and he seems sane and ok to me. Having said that, he is NOT the ideal image for the sport of bodybuilding. He also hurts the efforts to educate the public and congress about the scientific realities of steorid use.
On the Tyra Banks show, she was calling him the "king of the bodybuilders" and he went with it.The avg idiot watching that show would think that Greg's physique with distorted arms was the ideal in modern BB? wtf?
Now Greg may have been a decent BB years ago, but, with his recent distorted body, he couldn't place in Mr Podunk, never mind be the king of bodybuilders.
I have read that Gregg wants to improve his image and was a bit miffed at the recent media coverage over his extreme steroid use. The thing is, Greg gained his bit of fame and got a cult following form his extreme "rambling freak" antics. He is a bodybuilding personality , NOT a champion BB.
I wish GV well, but in my humble opinion I don't think a responsible ,legit, "rambling freak" will sell.
