April Ratings: FNC Beats CNN and MSNBC Combined

How's this for cable news domination - Fox News beat CNN and MSNBC combined in every hour from 6amET to MidnightET in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo for April 2009.

FNC had the top 11 cable news programs in Total Viewers and 12 of the top 15 in the demo. FNC is the #2 network in Total Viewers on all of cable.

From 9amET on, every program grew by more than 60% in the demo. The 5pmET hour, now occupied by Glenn Beck, is up 212% in the demo and up 128% in Total Viewers. Your World with Neil Cavuto is up 102% in the demo and up 60% in Total Viewers. On the Record with Greta Van Susteren is up 75% in demo and up 55% in Total Viewers. Also in demo: FOX Report is up 75%, Special Report 70%, The O'Reilly Factor 74% and Hannity 64%.

Fox & Friends has now been #1 for 90 consecutive months, Studio B with Shepard Smith for 80 consecutive months.

Its funny...CNN and MSNBC don't get rolled into the rating for news programs like the network news shows...except Special report..because its viewed as completely unbiased. I think CNN will work hard to get back to unbiased journalism. There is no hope for MSNBC.

MSNBC is just horrible television.

CNN is boring as hell and filled with homos and wimps.

Fox is marginally better than the rest but at least has debates.

I watched a few minutes of Olbermann the other day (about all I can stand) and he spent an inordinate amount of time bashing O'Reilly, using the childlike facial expressions and mock voice. Bush league. No wonder he's getting his butt kicked.

Like I said, its horrible tv. At least Fox has debates and people to give the other side of things. They also have hot women, but that is another story.

MSNBC and CNN appeal to a tiny demographic of people - gays and liberal wimp panzies.

Mostly men watch cable news and most men are straight. Thus, Fox is going to get the best ratings. How hard is this to understand?

I keep telling you guys, it's the train wreck syndrome. People tune in to watch disastrous statements happen live. People for some reason also seem to glue themselves to panic news and Fox is above the rest in the fear department. They also have more tits and ass than any other news channel.

this is the only plausable reason youve given, olberman is a trainwreck every damn day, crying, calling ppl names, spewing hate, melting down every other minute and his rating blow in comparison. MSNBC has been fear mongering about the economy for months now to justify obams spending spree and again their ratings suck...FOX does have the finest ass in cable news though thats for damn sure.

really, you may think so but do right leaning people tune in to watch Olbermann? Obviously not.... You're either saying righties are immune from the type who can't resist seeing a train wreck or Olbermann isn't a train wreck. I know many watch Fox News for the actual shock and awe of keeping tabs on some of the most crazy things said in news. Doubt that? Well it's true, you can tell by the constant stream of uploaded videos highlighting this or that absurdity heard on Fox News. So what I'm telling you is that Fox benefits in viewership from not only regular loyal Fox believers, but from people who tune in to gawk. The same does not generally go the other way, righties do not like to tune in to listen to anything they believe is left leaning, they just denounce it and boycott it. and yea, I am right, Fox News has more eye candy. list say that your first assertion is correct even if the few odd ppl did tune in to see it so they can SPIN the shit that is said and thats pretty much all they do FOX still kicks the shit out of MSNBC and CNN in ratings by what twice as much or more...LOL not all those ppl are liberals looking for the next phrase or story to spin.

I bet it's more than you think. Think about it, these other shows, even on the radio constantly point people to Fox. They're always pointing out absurdities on Fox. Yea, a lot probably go and look. Olbermann probably sends Fox more viewers than any other left leaning show, but they all do to some extent. Not so much on Fox, there is the occasional hit on MSNBC from Hannity or Bill but certainly not a daily attack. Bill has mentioned he refrains from it for that exact reason, he doesn't want to publicise MSNBC. I did a thing with Brian Kilmeade, he told me thats its almost impossible to work there. The chicks are waaay to hot. They're all former beauty queens or alike with degree's most are not journo's to start with.

If I was not politically bias in any way and just wanted to catch the news, I would without a doubt be magically gravitated toward Fox
