Im guessing its the Nationals (cause at the JR Nationals where DEmayo beat Levrone,Kevin had longer hair/pony tail)

going to a local contest then was like a national show in jersey you see beau matlock,and all the boys from kemper's gym all huge in the audience,or vinny galanti as a middleweight shredded and the place going nuts as if was a pro show.

i did the Canadian nationals that year. i was 5'9.5 and 240 lbs.  i didn't look anything like those guys.

We could relate to them on some level, the top bbers just seemed more real, the physiques just "appeared" more attainable/achievable...

Nowadays (I sound old), its a production line (exceptions of Wolf, Heath, few others), most dont look appealing, attainable (even if you wanted to), a myriad of bodyparts slewn together happazardly...

I dunno................... all the "distended bellies", "Synthol," "grotesque physiques" seems to have put the nail in the coffin so to speak

used to be "cool" /admirable to be a bodybuilder ......not so much  now

or "i just wanna train chest and arms a little bit for the beach"

i haven't heard "i wanna get jacked" in years now

young guys today wanna be "Skinny Emo fruits with womens jeans on"
