Mike used to be a great pro at one time in the 80's anyone know what he is doing now?

I've been asking that question for years. He seldom shows up at the SoCal shows and when he does, its great to see him. Nice guy. I hope he's ok.

Yea he was a good guy but I think he may have had a narcotic drug issue hopefully not anymore.

I've heard those rumors also......but I think his Platinum Everywhere business is still running.

I DO know he was depressed about the 90 Olympia. Though for sure he beat Haney and company!!!!

I saw the prejudging for that 90 Olympia and man I would say Mike was top 3 for sure. If he would have been the winner it would not have been poorly received by the crowd I don't think, probally the best he looked, or the worst the other guys looked, LOL They drug tested that Olympia, for diuretics mainly I think.

Funny I remember back in late 80's Lee Haney also sold doo rags. So Mike was Lee's competition in the doo rag biz. Mike was quoted saying comaparing his doo rag line to Lee Haney's doo rags That Lee's were "Bare bones minimum" LOL

Lee may have been protected by Mike from Rich who was usually between the 2. But most say Flea should have won that show.

Labrada? Yes he looked good also, just not enough size though IMO LOL looking at that line up, I didnt remember Munzer and some of those guys were there. S. Ray with a good placing.

The last time I saw Mike was in Golds Venice about 4-5 years ago. He was training a few clients. I had the feeling that Mike was battling with some drug issues again. He had an initial bout of drug related issues during and after the WBF, but then cleaned out and got his shit together again. He got in great competition shape in the mid 90's , did some interviews and photo shoots, but never competed again. But when I saw him a few years back at Golds he just had eyes that wer as wide as saucers. he looked like he was on speed. He was in lean shape but much thinner in size. He was still training himself, but not for anything serious. Tommywishbone may know if Mike has been around in Golds in recent times.

I havent seen Mike in golds in the last 2-3 years that I have been there. Though oddly enough I swear that I have seen an incognito Bob Paris a few times.

Mike used to visit a guy in Alberta that had a couple of very successful tire shops. maybe he helped Mike get set up?

I remember Mike Quinn eating major crow after predicting he was "Gonna beat Lee Haney" but showed up worse than he looked in the 92 WBF. Quinnwas cool though sort of like a Titus mixed with Kamali/mixed with Mattarazzo

he looked better in 1990 than 1992.

1990 he was smaller than usual, 1992 he was simply obese.

As was everyone else that year. Even Haney was down to 230 pounds that year.

When Mike was on he was 250 pounds at 6'1" with 21" arms in COMPETITION...
