michelle obama a clown

Here is what the Obamas consider sacrifice.

The First Lady spent April 29th volunteering: She donated time filling bags with non-perishable food to be distributed at the Capitol Area Food Bank for Feeding America. An extremely worthy and commendable activity, and yet the photo has spurred a mini controversy. Why you may ask? Her fashion choices, naturally.

At first glance, there is nothing exceptional about her casual capri-and-sneaker combo, but upon closer inspection, it's obvious that these are no average kicks. Mrs. O rocked a pair of $540 Lanvin sneakers to the food bank.

Michelle Obama has previously been praised for her ability to mix high and low fashion, but are there limits to her mixology? Sure, the trendy low tops add a dash of flash to an otherwise dull ensemble, but one could also argue that the pricey footwear was inappropriate for the occasion. Vote in the poll below to let us know what you think about the First Lady's lasted fashion statement

Can't stand Obama's policies, but stories like this........who cares?   These are non-stories that distract from the real problems at hand.

I would rather the left be the petty side who worries about a candidate of their wife's clothes and other trivial stuff.

It was like the article on Obama's 100 mistakes.  There were probably about 20-30 totally legitimate points, but the whole thing got watered down trying to make it 100.

For all we know the shoes were a gift.  Like I said, I agree with a lot of stuff you post, just not this one.

They look like something a honeless person sews together from scraps found in the dumpster.

so Palin spending $150k on wardrobe (from RNC campaign donations) doesn't matter...

but...

Obama having a nice pair of shoes (when we don't even know if she bought them herself) is a big deal?

No,its not a story.Neither is a story.YOU made the Palin thing a story, spurring me on to bring this up.You see, unlike most,I dont sit by while some limp wristed lib bashes away and just says "oh thats not really a story".Palin spending 150,000 on clothes SHE RETURNED and were bought for her!!!!!Is not a story.Obama wearing stupid ass 500 dollar shoes is not a story.

One thing for sure.Palin at least made her wardrobe look good. The only thing that would make Obama look good is a bad over her head.

Two two have nothing to do with one another.  I said their ugly and a ripoff.  If she paid for them, fine, its her money.

If someone gave them to her as free advertising, fine.

i just think they are ugly.

At least Palin looked good in her clothes.   ;D ;D

This is a silly debate anyway.

The whole point I made above was to try avoid this predictable response.

First lady's school lunch plan will cost $4.5 billion
The question is — be honest — where will the money come from?

Government is chock-full of programs many people view as worthwhile — until the cost is added up. Then, many taxpayers decide priorities need to be set.

That is why liberals in government have become adept at concealing the cost of social programs. One example is currently in the news.

First lady Michelle Obama insists that healthier foods should be served in public school lunches. That will require a new $4.5 billion program, say the program's proponents. The federally funded school-lunch program feeds 31 million low-income American children a year and provides many with the bulk of the calories they consume each day.

Obama's plan is a comprehensive approach to dealing with the obesity problem. So she proposes commitments from the food industry to reduce the amount of fat, sugar and salt in the products they supply. But upping the number of fruits and vegetables on kids' lunch trays is an expensive proposition, since these products have reportedly increased 50 percent faster than other foods over the last 20 years.

Some members of the House of Representatives have balked at the first lady's plan, already approved by the Senate. The complaint is that some of the money for it, about $2.2 billion, is to be taken from the government's food-stamp program.

This week, opponents of that approach signaled they may be ready to change their minds and approve the spending.

That came after President Obama promised he will help restore money taken from the food-stamp program.

Much of the controversy was for show, we suspect. Of course no one in Washington would slash $2.2 billion from the food-stamp program, particularly during times such as these. That should never have been in doubt.

But claiming the $2.2 billion would be taken from one program to pay for a new one allowed liberals to maintain at least part of the school lunch initiative was “paid for.”

That strategy, used often in Washington, is blatantly dishonest — and the liberals know it. It is one reason our national debt has topped $13.7 trillion.

We trust newly elected conservative lawmakers will demand more honesty about government spending.
