Knowing biochemistry and muscle mechanics = not needed for huge muscles. Knowing a lot about that would not help Ronnie Coleman get much bigger.
Outmost knowledge of theory and ultra technique = needed to speak the entire language of music. Morello can basically speak "emorock for socialist kids" with a couple of chords. Put him in another musical sitation and he is lost.
The "new" things he came up with was basically using effects to get more sounds out of the guitar. From a playing perspective he is still a boring pentatonic wanking moron that knows some alternate picking.
To put it simply: Morello appeals to moronic teenagers
stealing money from their parents to buy coke that thinks his music is "cool". He = not a great guitarist or musician.
In all seriousness, you can not account for taste, and if you thinks Morello = the best guitarist out there, then he = the best for you.
But that still does not take away from the fact that he = not a great guitarist nor musician when it comes to the "skill" department. His cock just happens to appeal to your taste buds.
