you asked what kind of jews and I answered...
'Ashkenazic Jews' are the Jews of France, Germany, 'Eastern Europe' & the descendants of this group.
Sephardic Jews are the Jews of Spain, Portugal, North Africa & the Middle East.
Their descendants. Sephardic Jews are often subdivided into 'Sephardim' (from Spain/Portugal) with 'Mizrachim' (being from the Northern Africa/Middle East), though there is much overlap between those groups. Until the 1400s, the Iberian Peninsula, North Africa & the Middle East were all controlled by Muslims, who generally allowed JOO's to move freely throughout the region (untill they saw what they were doing with the financing/usury).
When the Jews were expelled from Spain (for this offense, not to mention all the other countries in Europe, where the same thing happened) in 1492, many of them were absorbed into existing 'Mizrachi' communities in Northern Africa and the Middle East.
The word "Ashkenazic" is derived from the Hebrew word for Germany. The word "Sephardic" is derived from the Hebrew word for Spain. The word "Mizrachi" is derived from the Hebrew word for Eastern.
There you go, all a little clearer now.
As they - DO NOT LIKE - interbreeding with 'Goyim' they have remained fairly 'MT-DNA' stable with-in these groups.
