WORLD EXTREME CAGEFIGHTING
More Bouts Confirmed for June 7th WEC
By FCF Staff

World Extreme Cagefighting has confirmed several more bouts for the promotion’s upcoming “Brown vs. Faber 2” event, which will take place June 7th, at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California. The card will naturally be headlined with the rematch between current WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown, and former champion Urijah Faber.

In another notable 145lb. clash, the rapidly ascending Jose Aldo (14-1) will take on fellow contender Cub Swanson (13-2). Aldo is coming off a first round stoppage of Chris Mickle at WEC 39 in March, while Swanson most recently worked his way to a Unanimous Decision victory over Hiroyuki Takaya, at WEC 37 in December.

“Ultimate Fighter” veteran Manny Gamburyan (8-4) will make his promotional debut and will square off with the undefeated John Franchi (5-0). After having a largely successful stint on the TUF reality show, Gamburyan went 2-3 competing in the UFC lightweight division, and made the decision to drop down to 145lbs. Franchi is coming off his WEC debut in March, where he worked his way to a Split Decision victory over Mike Budnik.

Donald Cerrone (9-1) will look to rebound, from his failed attempt at unseating current lightweight champion Jamie Varner in January, against James Krause. In the WEC newcomer Krause, Cerrone will face a fighter who has won all ten of his professional bouts since turning pro in November, 2007.

“Brown vs. Faber 2” Line-Up

FW-Mike Brown vs. Urijah Faber

Brown has Faber's cryptonite.  Faber isn't really that big upclose, when I talked with him, the first thing I thought was, I wonder if I hit him right now how well he would take the punch.  Brown is a solid mofo, with wrestling just as good as Fabers, hands just as good as faber, except Brown is naturally a bit bigger and stronger, jits is about even.
Predictions
 40/61

i agree totally about the comparisons, fabers only real disadvantage is mike browns naturally a bigger dude. imo size really has an advantage when both guys have pretty equal skills, wrestlers are experts at the weight cutting game. last time i spoke with kurt pelligrinno, he said you would never guess mike fought in that weight class cause between fights he puts on about 20+ lbs and looks every solid bit of that weight when they train together

I talked to Mike at the Arnold this year for a while and I told him he must do some serious cutting for his fights and he told me I had no idea. LOL.
