GUYS...LETS CUT THE CRAP AND BE REAL...VERY FEW LIFTERS CAN BENCH 315....I'M TALKING NATURALS HERE OF COURSE...NOT THE NEANDERTHALS ON JUICE...I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF MY GYM FOR FOUR YEARS AND I HAVE ONLY SEEN TWO PEOPLE DO IT...VERY FEW EVEN ATTEMPT IT....I MYSELF AM TRYING TO WORK TOWARD IT BUT I AM AT 285...
AND I AM TALKING LIFTING 315 WITHOUT HELP FROM A SPOTTER.....WITHOUT A BENCH SHIRT AND ON THE FREESTANDING OLYMPIC BAR NOT ON THE ASSISTED RACK.
YET EVERYONE ON HERE CLAIMS TO BE BENCHING WAY ABOVE THAT
YOU GUYS AGREE?...AND WHAT IS THE ABSOLUTE WEIGHT LIMIT THAT A NATURAL CAN BENCH?
Once again, you're doing what you do best: Make tired, pitiful excuses for your lack of personal progress. Where exactly do you train, Curves?
Instead of obssessing on what naturals supposedly can or can't do, perhaps you should focus on your training (and more importantly, your diet).
Furthermore, your own statement betrays you. Are we to believe that you absolutely CANNOT add an extra 30 lbs. to your bench press without drugs? In the event you actually accomplish that, can we then accuse you of taking everything but the kitchen sink?
315 is working weight for me (5-8 reps) and has been for several years. And, back in college, I could barely afford Mega Mass and Challenge Milk & Egg Protein powder, much less steroids or any other drugs.
Bottom line: It took eating/drinking thousands of calories, day after day, week after week, and month after month, to put on enough size to accomplish that feat.
Was it easy? NO!
Did I gain pure muscle? HARDLY!!!
Did I feel like ramming that much food down my throat daily? I DON'T THINK SO!!
But, in the end, I stuck with it and got the job done.
