Since humans have a tendency to cluster around the average, what you say = true for most people.

Becoming something you really want IS possible for a certain portion of humanity (given that they are not to old to start ect). The only problem is that the sacrifice it takes (consuming practically every waking hour of your life for at least a decade) is far too much for people to handle. Most ultra achievers have sacrificed way more than anybody knows.
