President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when
Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the observance.

For the past eight years, President George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and several leaders offered prayers.

Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the president is simply reverting back to pre-Bush administration practice.

i like his strategy.

hes alienating the religious zealots. the ones who have been a parasite to the republican party.

Therefor marginalizing them to the right. It could bring him more independents/swing voters to the dems in the form of votes.

Someone should just throw some HOLY WATER on him and watch him squirm and scream in pain....

This guy is turning in to the biggest ASSHOLE ever...I am still amazed that ANYONE still supports him. Even knucklehead Bush attended the prayer service....

What does Obama have to hide??  Quick someone get a pair of scissor and cut away at his hair to see if the 666 is there... you can kill him immediately before he gets FULL POWER FROM SATAN.
