Anyone ever have a phone interview? Got one on Tuesday and nervous as hell

It's supposed to be a half hour. What kind of job interview has you talking for 30 minutes on the phone. Anyone ever do one of these before?

they just ask you basics..be light and upbeat and very positive about everything..they are judging your personality and how you will fit in with their staff....... and dont talk too much or give overly detailed explanations,  let them do all the talking...dont offer up any information they dont ask for...just answer each question briefly and very very positive.

Try to assess the personality of the interviewer, if they make a lot of jokes, show them you are fun, but dont make the mistake of making your own quips..it will work against you.

i was a traveling nurse and have done numerous interviews over the phone. always got the jobs i was looking for. iv'e interviewed for nursing positions in st thomas, san diego, hawaii, nyc, and hopkins in baltimore city

Not really. I am nervous because I can't imagine why it needs to be a half hour and I don't know what they will be asking and it is in Saudi. BUT worse thing that can happen is I don't get the job, so no biggie.

They will also want you to give examples of situations in the past where you have used these skills, rather than just saying how you would use them

Just be relaxed, and beyond that look up a list of stock questions that some interviewers ask, and have various stock answers ready. For example, what is your greatest weakness, tell me about a project in which you made the greatest impact, etc. Don't talk too much, let the interviewer lead.

 in most telephone interviews the employer is just looking for the basics. employment hx ect, if you are personable and can sell yourself you are probably in good shape. im sure it went well. good luck
