yes he suffers from lipid dystrophy (all fat is IAF rather than subcutaneous) which is very common amongst those with AIDS. However, I think it's caused by the AIDS meds and not the AIDS itself.
There's a ton of people at my gym that are EXTREMELY ripped and vascular, but also looked like they swallowed a pumpkin.
One day, I made a comment to a friend in the gym about it, something along the lines of "Even if I could be that ripped, I'm not so sure I would want to look like that and have that pot belly. Someone is making a KILLING of GH around here."
So my friend (who is gay) goes on to tell me that it is the medication for HIV/Aids patients that is making them that way, not the GH I suspected. His former partner took the same medication, and my friend says he knows the look- being extremely ripped, vascular and having not too much muscle mass, all the while having a pot belly.
I believe he said it was cause by protease (sp?) inhibitors? Something like that. His explanation was that while the drug makes you look odd (ripped, big gut etc...) it allows you to live longer, but at the expense of "re-dispersing" your fat deposits.
Made sense on some levels.
