Lol, never quite got the whole posing in hotels/motels thing. Seems about one step removed from gonzo porn.
photographing muscle was the primary objective.. not taking beautiful pictures. Quantity over quality. That has evolved, however..Some of them are doing some great quality work nowadays. Dan Ray is a good photog, but we were limited very much by time & our surroundings
When your out of town at an expo or competing, there usually arent many other options.. but yea.. hotel rooms, hallways= tacky.. I agree. Very seldom does it look tasteful or artistic.. but some can pull it off.
In physique photography, its all about the angles & use of lighting...shouldnt have much to do with location. Someday if I get the time and $$, I will try my hand at it.
