Vegas flights these days are dirt cheap, especially since you're staying over the weekdays, rather than weekend. Leaving for home on a Friday is a smart move on your part. The airport wont be as crowded with less liklihood of flights being delayed.

The only bitch of it is that it's pretty hard to find a direct flight going either way.
