I filled my coffee maker with bleach/water to clean it out.How many pots of water do I have to run through it to rinse it well?
should of used CLR ace
I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask but what the heck i'll try.None drink from it straight away and enjoy that fresh clean tasting coffee, a bit of bleach never hurt anyone!ta ta
Two replies and I'm already cracking up.
3 with cold water
Next time use vinegar and water.Actually, that wouldn't be a bad idea now to help rinse it out, especially if you used a high concentration of bleach.
Lemon juice my son, much better!!
Lemon juice works as does vinegar. I clean out our cappuccino machine with vinegar every couple of months and it works great.Don't ever use bleach again!
OK,But what's the big deal? If rinsed thoroughly it seems like bleach would be the best way to clean it?
DILUTED bleach is a good disinfectant but that's not what you're trying to do. You need the acids to dissolve the scale, mineral deposits, etc.
It might work but it just doesn't go. Just clean it with water. It's like putting cheese on Fish pasta. Easy off will do a great job cleaning the coffee machine as well. But it shouldn't be used. Bleach, soap, vinegar, and lemon juice in my opinion should stay away from coffee machines. Flush that sucker with water.
It's all about the flavor my man. It's like having a seasoned cast iron skillet. You just don't wash it with nothing but water.
We all love to eat and drink. Might as well do it right? Now it's BBQ season so get ready!
