Many euro restaurants idea of lasagna is some barely warm chili spread over undercooked pasta.

One of the biggest myths around is that food in euro restaurants is something to be desired.

It's true, there are bad places all over the world.
I generally love the food in the US, many excellent restaurants.

It all depends where you go. It is a business my man.

True but at least you can hang out and chill in Europe.

You are so right!!!! Just because a restaunt is in Paris makes it good? I've eaten some of the worst stuff in my life in Italy. But I've also eaten some of the best stuff of my life in Italy. All depends on the restaurant. Example here in NYC. Jean Georges is rated four stars by the NY Times. French restaurant. The food sucks there. Never had anything good. But the desserts are easily some of the best I've ever had. The pastry Chef is one of the best in the World. There's good and bad no matter where you are. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

What = your top 5 restaurants in the Manhattan area?

Yeah you can also sleep in the Afternoon there. Restaurants want you to leave in order for more people to dine. If it's not busy or they're not trying to close what restaurant is trying to push you out the door?

Good and bad points to everything. I used to like to hang out with friends at a favourite restaurant/cafe in Berlin and while away the hours in conversation.

I was invited every time I was there, only business trips. I don't remember names of restaurants but I remember some awesome Tex-Mex places in Austin, Asian seafood in Sau Salito, Steak in Florida, Sandwich deli in San Antonio. Toronto was also amazing, I remember the restaurant in the CN tower, ate an amazing salmon filet there.

Fuck that.  Europe restaurants are shit.  Nothing worse than trying to eat when some fuck one table over is having a cigarette  while they digest.  Those slimey fuckers smoke like there's no tomorrow.

smoking in public place is history now.

I have never been in an American restaurant where I haven't been rushed out the door as soon as I was done eating. Lots of choices and variety but that is one aspect that bothers me. Anyone else experience this?

Maybe you were stinking up the joint, like many underbathed europeans do, and they gave you the heave-ho ?

No. You are weak if you let a waiter bully you.

I don't recall ever having this problem, and I eat in restaurants frequently due to travelling.  Perhaps it's just you they're rushing out?  ;D
