Diarhea/Protein intake

Just wondering here, I just started uping my protein intake to over 400gms a day and i have green diarhea does anyone else get this when taking in high amounts of protein?? If so is there a way to counter act it??

Also i just want to say that the majority of my protein is from whey.

how much do u weigh ?

400g a day of proteins is way to much IMO. Protein is important but not as that amount.

230lbs/ I dont deal with carbs that well so im trying to substitute calories with protein for carbs.

cut protein my 100 grams and take in extra fat

Another route you could go is taking digestive enzymes.  They'll increase your rate of protein utilization, and ease the strain on your digestive tract. 

You could also start eating actual food.  Just an idea.

I would cut at least 100grams out of your diet.

& try some digestive enzymes...

I wouldn't cut your protein- there's no evidence of deleterious effects from high doses of protein on people with normal renal function.  Thus, you'll either have no effect or a positive effect from elevated protein intake.

I wasn't saying cut the protein because of kidney function. He's getting the shits...it's probably just his body's way of telling him it doesn't agree with his diet.

Proteins are overrated IMO.

You'are eating as much protein as Denis James eat in a day.

Trust me cut 100-150g of proteins, try to eat more chicken and fish and meat instead of supplement and you should be fine. If not stop eating protein supplement for a while and try to eat more carbs and fat and just eat protein from real food.

i always had no problem with protein. last year i got a new product, started getting stomach cramps and diarrhea everyday for about a month. i reached to the conclusion that the new sup was the problem, i stopped it for about a week and i was ok, started it again and got sick the same day. i know my problem was not with the protein itself, but rather with the other substances(flavors, sweeteners..etc).

did you add a new sup to your arsenal?

Good advice regarding enzymes.

Try using some Pancreatin and/or Protease to help with the protein.
If you’re doing the high fat thing, consider some Lapase to aid that.

And if you’re consuming milk several times throughout the day – especially using it to mix your powders, then take some Lactase.
I can handle milk, but too much of it at once does me in.

Also, if you’re not already, add some fiber to your diet in the forms of vegetables, some fruits, and even a bit of grains (they won’t kill you).

It may be that you’re simply eating more than your body can handle, and that is what’s accounting for the GI distress.
If that’s the case, the above remedies will only help so much.
You may have to scale back your overall caloric intake.

Pretends?  That's not even 1.5g of protein per lb of bodyweight!  It's not as though a 300 lb man eating 400g of protein is outside the realm of possibility, or probability, for that matter.

You can still go the high fat/low carb route if that is what your heart desires.
A lot of old timers (Rheo Blair devotees) got great results doing just that.

You can get good, healthy fats without ingesting excessive protein:

Fish oil,
Olive/walnut oil,
Natural peanut butter,
Tuna packed in oil rather than water,
If you’re consuming a dozen egg whites for breakfast, use 6 whole eggs instead.

The good fats can help keep your testosterone levels elevated some and add extra calories (from reading your posts I think that’s what you’re after?) for gaining quality size.

Eat some vegetables. You do not wanna continue this route or you'll end up with IBS or chrones or some shit. All that protein is not good for your digestive system.

Yep im after just that montauge quality size and strength is what i want, Ive actually started taking fish oil ( Recently ) This brings up another quistion..... How much fish oil is to much??

Basic everyday health maintenance is about 3 grams/day.
3-5 grams for improved cardiovascular health.
5-10 grams for enhanced brain function and reduction of chronic inflammation (arthritis, bursitis, headaches, etc.).
10 grams and up has been shown to be helpful in treating some brain dysfunctions like Parkinsons, ADHD, Schizophrenia, extreme violent behavior, etc.

A small amount of vitamin E can help preserve/protect fish oil from oxidizing. Keep away from heat, and consider storing in the fridge, or even freezer if you have burping issues.

Try to take it with food since the stomach's digestive acids help with absorption (as with most vitamins). Vitamin E helps with absorption as well (and vice-versa).

Fats & oils are very important for muscle building and all around health - flaxseed, olive, wheat germ, canola oil's, etc. can all provide you with additional good calories without stuffing yourself with solid foods. A teaspoon of most good oils can contain around 125 calories. Taken 4 times throughout the day, that add's up to 500 extra quality calories.
