You guys can't seriously be using a MetRx ad to determine Ronnie's accurate weight?

You can't be that gullible.

I am using contest pics as a guide to clearly see that 260 pounds in 1996 is retarded and totally bullshit..

the idiot nuthuggers, well, they blindly go by what the mag says.. ::)

but that the difference between us and them: we use our heads.

they don't.

Actually roll your eyes, but he WAS 230-235 only the year before (1995). He brought a larger package in 1996. I thought he only went up to 250. I never read 260 pounds for Ronnie until 2000?

Is it too late for this thread to be saved from being another Dorian vs. Ronnie hijacking with Hulkster and ND?  :-\

True, but don't forget Nasser got disqualified cause he tested positive for Diuretics. Dorian was the only one on that stage who was dry, although his legs weren't filled out to his usual standards. If I remember right, Paul Dillett was quite dry too, for that Olympia.

Did you know that practically all the competitors at the 96 Olympia took diuretics.  They said they would introduce testing for them that year but in actuality there was no test.  Nasser casually mentioned diuretics he took to Mike Matarazzo who then complained against him and resulted in him losing his prize money.

Anyone who competed at the O that year can confirm this :)

Nasser looks incredible there. This is probably his best shape ever, even better than his 99' Arnold win. His back is enormous and is pretty dry, something that Nasser seldom achieved. From the front, him and Levrone were clearly the better two of the show: Ronnie was not as full and dry for that show like he was at that year's CPC. He had the smallest waist of them all, but that was not enough to trump Nasser and Levrone who looked otherworldly. Nasser clear winner, with Levrone second.

Thank you!  This shot is insane

x2!
anyone who has any idea about BB competing will know that they all BB's are using diuretics, amateurs and pro's- from your local state show to the Olympia stage.
it is naive and ignorant to believe otherwise.
there was no diuretic testing in 1996- Nasser was the victim of a snitch.

yeah, ronnie's arms looked pathetic compared to their usual standard.

he tried to mimic his 245 pound Arnold Classic look and failed..

Ronnie's arms look great.  Conditioning is spot on.  Even though his arms are huge, his biceps have always had a strange shape and are a little short....esp next to kevin who has really long bi's.

Ronnies tri's look thin too.  It seems like his bi's and tris are just fascia muscles over a sub set of really big under muscles.

Yep. the % of Met-Rx HMB's superiority over Muscletech's counterpart, is off the scale.

Men in white coats are feverishly working on a new scale.

Looks better in 97 , more detailed delts much smaller and tighter midsection

The judges care a lot about size and conditioning from behind, this is why Ronnie started beating Kevin all of a sudden. Kevin destroyed Ronnie in 2002, except that he forgot to bring the best back and legs. Ronnie's torso from the front was pretty bad, but best back and legs + conditioning go a long way. Same reason Kai beat Victor at the Arnold. Victor was biger and better in the upperbody from the front but Kai had everything else. Kevin's got great arms in 2002 but Ronnie had the best legs and back combo.

Also I think against guys like Levrone, Ronnie's added deltoid size really helped him, because it balanced out his massive chest and stopped him looking narrow next to Kevin the delt monster! Kevin's delts/arm/chest were never detailed like Ronnie's to begin with so I guess the judges thought Ronnie's added delt size could come at the expense of 5% less detail. Dorian never had grain of detail in his delts once he got to the 260lb range.

Bottom line, the judges clearly felt Ronnie '99 was better than Ronnie '97, hence his perfect score at the O that year.
