simple,,,flex had beautiful cartoon muscle and shape,yates literally exploded when posed hard as nailz ,flex appeared softer as many did next to dorian.

as good as Flex was there, he was noticably softer than his 93 AC form, which hurt him greatly.

the judges were expecting his best ever shape, and they didn't get it.

I think that hurt him greatly in the eyes of the judges..

flex wasn't his best at the Olympia that year, he probably competed too many times in 93
still looked great though

You are a JOKE. Flex wasn't even close in 93. Samir Bannout said Dorian got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. If that's not utter domination, then what is. Flex was way closer to beating Ron in 98,99 then Yates in 93 hahaha

Exactly. According to Flex W post contest, he thought Shawn Ray was second, himself third and Dorian was "untouchable". I think Samir Bannout who saw the contest said "Dorian was first, second and third". Anyone who says Flex was better than Dorian in 93 (or at their peaks) just doesn't know bodybuilding.

Dorian's 93 Olympia win is one of the top 3 most dominant Olympia wins, if not the #1 itself.

I have gone on record in the past stating that dorian deserved to win and I still stand by that.

flex was not in his best shape, and he needed to be that night..

I think shawn should have beaten flex that year - shawn was razor sharp, with great lower body cuts (hams/glues) where flex had none..

but flex got second on name impact alone - he was going into that show off of four pro wins in a row..

he was the talk of the town going in...

93 isn't even debatable. Flex had a great showing, but he was out-massed by 40lbs and also out-conditioned. Game over.

Lol...here is Hulkster in another Dorian thread claiming that the "nuthuggers" get fired up

At least he has the sense to realize Dorian dominated 93.

Here are a few more pics from that show. Flex compares much better in the back relaxed shots - much closer than I would have thought. Poor Labrada though (see above).
