Hi new member here and just wanted to see if anybody could help me out with nutritional/diet info on getting ripped up. Im not doing a show or contest just wanna take my body to its limit. Ill be doing this naturally. I was planning on paying a nutritionist in my area but had no luck finding a good one thats worked with bodybuilders and would rather save the money and do some research.
So after some internet searches i was able to find out some info. I searched on GB but wasn't able to find exactly what i was looking for. But i was able to figuring out my BEE=Basal Energy Expenditure. So here are my questions.
1. Whats the perfect diet ratio for getting ripped up for a contest? I've seen diets that consist of 70 percent carbs, 25 percent protein, and 5 percent fats. But ive also seen diets with 70 percent protein and 25 percent carbs, and 5 percent fats.
2. Is using my BEE to figure out how how many calories my body can take in to maintain the best equation? Or should i use another method?
3. I still need to figure out my body fat percentage but i wanna say im at about 15 percent and would say for contest ready i need to be at 5 percent. So i need to lose 10 percent of body fat. How do i figure out how many calories this would consist of?
4. So based on how many calories i need to lose to lose that amount of body fat i would adjust my diet accordingly?
5. I heard a lot about this every week the closer u get to the contest date you keep taking away food from your diet? So how would this work? Example take away 100 calories a week based on a 8 week diet? Based on these calories what percentage of protein/carb/fat do you take away?
6. How many weeks should i diet for? 8 weeks?
7. Also i usually wake up around 10am and go to sleep around 2am...i hear a lot about dont eat carbs after "X" time. I plan on eating 5 meals a day should i not eat carbs with meal 4 and 5?
I like to say im pretty disciplined when it comes to eating. Im ok with doing chicken and rice all day long and was kinda just planning on doing that for my diet.
As far as my workout i was planning on doing 45 min to 1 hour of cardio 5 times a week. My lifts i hit everybody part at least twice a week.
Here are my stats
5' 11"
176 lbs.
attached is a pic of what i currently look like sorry for the crappy quailty..
Thanks for any help sorry for all the confusion questions.......*puts up flame repelling shield*
