tennis tends to represent a unique sport in the grand scheme of things. the aquired skill is an investment made in privledged children at a very young ages...instructed indivuidually by expensive coaches it is basically a zero sum game....(time and money invested=level of skill aquired). champions in this sport are constructed not born...if you have a kid, of any reasonable athletic ability, and you are willing to shell out cash...alot of cash...year in, year out...basically anyone can be made into a ranked circuit competitor. I suppose you can kind of liken it to golf, money and time invested being directly proportional to the level of skill acheived. .............so, it does not take a woman with the athletic ability of FloJo to be a competitive tennis pro......that's whats so unique about the williams sisters, here are two supremely genetically gifted female athletes,,,right from birth, you take a specimine like that, then add that too the years and years of coaching they went through...they are pretty much unstoppable.
i kind of rambled on, but the main point of this thread deals with a female tennis professional and her unimpressive physique....tennis places a far greater premium on skill, then true mulitfaceted athletic talent.
