No one said it justified anything but it should make US stop and think about our own wrong doing.

No one said we shouldn't talk about history:

Interesting.  Another sordid part of our history.  We did the same thing to the Chinese.  Nothing wrong with talking about history.

What I will not do is invent facts (we murdered and tortured thousands).  ::)  Nor will will I try and tie something that allegedly happened in South America in the 1970s  ::) with a terrorist attack by Middle Eastern terrorists in 2001.  The two have zero to do with each other.

They are morally equivalent which is why we shouldn't do things like that which we continue to do.

Doublespeak.  You just said you weren't making a moral equivalency argument.  So which is?  Do these alleged bad acts of decades ago justify 9/11 or not?

Huh? No one talked of justification. I merely said that the US has committed far worse crimes and should refrain from doing so.

Dude.  You are tripping over yourself.  You just said this:

Do you even know what moral equivalency means?  Whether the United States government has ever engaged in bad acts is completely irrelevant to 9/11.  The fact we illegally overthrew the Hawaiian monarchy has as much to do with 9/11 as some invented murder/torture in South America decades ago.

You are, in fact, trying to justify the murderous acts of terrorists on 9/11.  Shame on you.

No. I am saying we commit 9/11s all the time and we should stop. What don't you get about that?

My point is that US has done far more horrible things to other countries than compared to 9/11 purely in terms of human loss of life. You are the one who believes in fiction. Endless coups, assassinations, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, unconstitutional wars...yes, none of this has ever happened. ::) If you don't mind that, at least admit it but do not befoul the memory of innocents who have died as a result of such actions, just be honest.

This thread is not about what the US has done to other countries.  This thread is about what the US government did to its own citizens.
