The Great Deception and Destruction of America

America is literally on the edge of its own destruction by Congress and the White House. In the midst of a recession verging on a depression, Congress will vote on a bill that is devoted to the greatest deception of the modern era, “global warming”. Its passage would ensure the destruction of our economy.

Americans must swiftly come to understand that there is no “global warming” defined as being a sharp increase in the overall temperature of the Earth. A global cooling is in effect and has been for the past ten years.

“Global warming” is a hoax. Nothing the entire population of the Earth does compares with the power of nature as expressed by volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, blizzards, hurricanes, wildfires, the oceans, and the Sun, the single most responsible cause of warming or cooling.

Since the 1970s, Americans and others around the world have been subjected to this massive deception by the so-called environmental movement. Consider just a few of the lies put forth to mark the first Earth Day. “We have about five more years at the outside to do something,” said Kenneth Watts, an ecologist. “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind,” said George Wald, a Harvard Biologist.

Following the first Earth Day, The New York Times opined that “Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence, but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.” They lie. Every single newspaper and newswire service that speaks of “global warming” as real is lying.

The entire reason for the existence of the environmental movement has been to deny mankind in general and Americans in particular access to the energy sources vital for our economy and our lives. Destroying the economy is essential to imposing a totalitarian global government.

It is no accident that President Obama and his acolytes keep calling for “clean energy”, “energy independence”, and babbling endlessly about “green jobs” as the real jobs of Americans are systematically destroyed. Upon taking office, Obama rescinded the executive order to permit exploration of the nation’s offshore continental shelf for the wealth of oil and natural gas it possesses.

It is no accident that his Secretary of the Interior unilaterally cancelled 77 oil and gas leases or that, on March 25, the House of Representatives passed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 that adds two million more acres of wilderness to the 107 million acres already “protected” by the federal government.

It is estimated that 300 million barrels of oil and 8.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas lie beneath these “protected” acres. The government owns 607 million acres of land in a nation founded on the belief in the sanctity and power of private property, the keystone of capitalism.

As this is written, Democrats are attempting to ram through Congress a bill sponsored by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Rep. Edward Markey (D-MA) that would impose a preposterous “Cap-and-Trade” law that is nothing more than a monstrous tax on the use of all energy by all Americans.

The purpose of the bill is to reduce “greenhouse gas emissions” (carbon dioxide) for the purpose of saving the Earth from “global warming”. Only there is NO “global warming.” And carbon dioxide (0.38 percent of the atmosphere) does not influence the atmosphere of the Earth in any way that would cause a massive warming. Along with oxygen, it is the most vital gas for all life on Earth.

Even if the bill were to become law, it totally ignores the fact that all the other nations of the Earth will continue to generate “greenhouse gases.”  The United Nations Kyoto Protocol, intended to reduce these gases, purposefully exempts China, India, and all undeveloped nations. Its limits are, by definition, meaningless.

The Waxman-Markey bill will, by 2035, reduce the aggregate domestic product (GDP) by an estimated $7.4 trillion. Our present annual GDP is about $14 trillion. It is estimated to destroy 844,000 jobs on average with peak years seeing unemployment rise by over 1,900,000 jobs. It will raise electricity rates 90% after adjusting for inflation. Prices for gasoline and natural gas will rise by 74% and 55% respectively.

This bill will impoverish Americans and destroy the nation as a beacon of freedom and liberty throughout the world.

Out of 303 million Americans, I seriously doubt if more than a relative handful know what cap-and-trade means or that it is even being debated, but they, their children, and their grandchildren will, by the actions of this Congress, live in a very different, very costly America; one in which the federal government will literally control every aspect of their lives.

The Democrats in Congress and the present occupants of the White House, by their actions, hate America. They pose the greatest threat to its future that has ever existed in our history.

Call, write, fax, and email your representatives in Congress. Let them know that you will not stand by idly as they destroy America.
