An interesting little tidbit regarding a new Korean Promotion called Fighting Mixed Combative. Nightmare of Battle has the news as part of a Korean news roundup:

The new Korean MMA event which was revealed a few weeks ago have changed their name from Fighter Mania Championship to Fighting Mixed Combative. They have also revealed that their first event will be on August 15th. On July 4th there will also be an Amateur event called DREADS by the company behind FMC (Fighter Mania Company) and the fighters who do good there could get a spot on FMC 2 in September.

The subtitle for FMC 1 is "Imjin Waeran" which is the Korean name of the Japanese invasions of Korea during 1592-1598. The name probably indicates that there will be a decent amount of Japan vs. Korea fights on the card.

The participation of fighters such as Aleksander Emelianenko, Choi Mu Bae, and Blagoi Ivanov was once again reaffirmed.

The most interesting part about the news is that Aleksander Emelianenko's name has popped up as a potential participant in the event. Most of the hardcore fanbase has been contemplating whether we would actually see Fedor's brother battle it out in any promotion that was relevant in the future due to potentially having Hepatitis C. It seems that M-1 Global is content with using him in Russia, but as rumors have spread, other fighters may be less willing to fight him.

Fortunately for Aleks, he's apparently been able to garner some interest from the new Korean promotion. Also on the card could be Sambo champion Blagoi Ivanov, who defeated Fedor Emelianenko in the Sambo Championships this past year.

I'm a bit hesitant to believe this news right now, but it's interesting that the world view of the rumors circulating about why Aleks wasn't allowed to fight in the U.S. are largely ignored. The new promotion is far from relevant in the MMA world, but it's very strange that a promotion would allow Aleks to fight with the potential for a bloodborne disease to spread.
