How exactly does viagra work?

I read that it inhibits an enzyme that causes the blood to leave the vessels(when you have an erection).Is this true?
Also ,does it raise or lower your bloodpressure?
What drugs would prevent viagra from working?

Sildenafil opens up veins for more blood. It elevates Blood pressure in most people, funny enough it was originally meant as a heart medication and they "accidentally" noticed this "side effect." I guess the only medications that propably would "block it" are beta blockers and such.
I have to admit that i don't know too much about it and since i'm a healthy (relatively ) young man, i'll stay away from it as long as i can (hopefully 4ever).
Many young guys do it just to get better sex experiences, but from my understanding if you use it and don't actually "need it" it can have pretty nasty sides. If you are interested about Viagra i'd go to www.drugdigest.org or to some similar web-page.

Thanks for the reply,I'm also quite young and healthy(36),but I can't help but notice that wih viagra my erection is harder and prolly because of more blood also a little bigger(same goes for proviron).I know some guys who never took viagra and claim to always have an excellent erection,even 3 times in 1 hour.Must be genetics or what?

It's hormones natural and exogeneous, also being 24 doens't hurt... 

When i reach 30 (if i do) i'll start permanent HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (at the latest) and i think you should start too, it' much better for you than Viagra.

With Viagra, you don't have to need it to appreciate it. I can't stand the sides myself...

Nope. Vasodilation lowers BP.

I take LINATIL 5 mg per day it has vasodilation effects, so you are right that it lowers BP, but every one of my friends that i've spoken to said it increased their heart rate and BP (VIAGRA). That' why i said i thought it was funny that it was originally meant to be heart medication.

They most likely "felt" an increase in BP, due to the stuffed nose and/or heart rate or whatever. Go read the prescribing info on side effects.

They probably had a "rebound" effect.
