Ron's already on a very low volume routine featuring a lot of recuperation between sets. Heavy squats every time he stands up from his chair. Upper body work when taking out the garbage. HIIT cardio running for the bus.

No doubt a busy schedule works as an excuse; it's easy to bipass...for a minute. Anyone with pride though eventually finds the time to work something in to the grind.

i wish the man would fuckin workout for once in his life, then ask for advices on getbig! Ron do you "attempt" to workout or what dude? Do you lack energy? What is it? We can help!! We understand you work 12 hours a day, but that doesnt mean you cant take 60 seconds here or there to crank out 20 pushups 5 times a day does it???? your neck being so huge is an indicator of high triglicerides wich could lead to a stroke at your age. Time to shape up for your sake just sayin..

Watch out fella, this Rod AviDan can rip you off this web sight if he aint likin' what yur typin'

cmon bro cut the jive talkin. ive already outlined a routine for you. Do you realize people all over this site are going apeshit over "tabata" routines? Its nothing fancy really alls it would take you is 20 seconds 5-10 times a day NO WEIGHTS NEEDED=NO FUCKING EXCUSES :) do pushups , squats or situps. this would be the START of change. i recommend the most potent antioxidant foods like grapefruit to start off with atleast big fat ronny falconia :)

Don't do Tabata, Ron.  The heart receives its bloodflow during the diastolic period, and an excessive heartrate won't leave enough time for the diastole, meaning heart attack.  If you're going to start a program then keep your heartrate below a safe zone during cardio, probably 135-140 bpm for you, or even lower until you gain some fitness.  Consider getting a general checkup including EKG.  Buy a set of adjustable dumbells if you don't want to go to a gym, resistance train 2-3x a week for 20-30 mins, and eat the right foods with an occasional indulgence.

Good point/s. Tabata is too intense for a somewhat sedentary person to jump straight into.

Hell, just go for a walk a few times a week. One of my favourite things is getting up early in the morning and going for a walk.
No doubt about it...

ok newbies, for the last time, i'm typing this out:

Ron Avidan used to compete in the NPC from 1985-1989.  He was a top ranked competitor, and considered somewhat of an arch nemesis to the "legends" you worship today.  Anyone hear of Kevin Levrone?  Yeah, Ron beat him twice as an amateur.

In 1989, with the fall of the Soviet Union, the russian bodybuilders along with the russian drugs jumped on the national scene.  Ron, a lifetime natural until that point was disgusted with the scene and swore off bodybuilding forever.

In 1994, a friend (Arnold S.) called Ron and said "hey listen man, i know you're done with bodybuilding, but your name's still out there, do something with it".

So, Ron, then a president of Met-Rx, formed a little newsgroup online to appease his bodybuilding friends.

One thing lead to another, and many of Ron's bodybuilding friends (many female) came in contact with him again through the alt.getbig.newsgroup.

And here we are today.

So no more "why is Ron fat" threads, ok?

Are there pics of Ron competing?

this is one of the photos i found.  i have to look more, but this one says 1986 so it gives you a good idea of what he looked like offseason.  remember, him and guys like levrone would gain weight when prepping for a show.

That pic's gotta be earlier than '86.  Remember, Ron came second to Haney in '82, so he had to have been bigger than that then.  Unless he really did do a "Levrone" and blow up for shows.

Nah, that came later on after he hung up his thong, stayed away from the weights, and discovered orange chicken.

I remember that.   Ron actually gave me those shoes as a handmedown.  They were a little snug on me but the man is generous to a fault.

someone with moral values like yours...i wouldn't think you'd be friends with Ron.  I mean, the man may have gained weight, but his vagina destroying abilities were legendary even back then.

Ron is a closeted homosexual and schmoe.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  It's just time to stop pretending.  Steve Blechman, if you read this, take note.  Ditto for Coach.
